In response to the China Belt and Road Initiative, Dr. Wu Shuqing, a standing member of the National Committee of the Twelfth Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and the Honorary Director of the World Trade Center Association, set up and organized the "Belt and Road International New Generation Fashion Designers Tour" in Hong Kong. The conference was held on March 23, 2018 at the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse in Beijing. The honored guests included Dr. Wu Shuqing, the organizer of the event, Mr. Gu Shixian, Icelandic Ambassador to China, Mr. Shi Kefang, Ambassador of Barna Island to China, Mr. Mbelwa Kairuji, Tanzanian Ambassador to China, and Ms. Fu Xiaohui, Director of the Hong Kong Office in Beijing. The event invited designers from all over the world to participate, including Liu Yanjun and Zhang Chenyu from China, Li Na, Li Ying, Tai Yuzhu and three designers from KANOE, Yu Hong, Ren Minghui, Lu Shengqian and Li Guanran from Hong Kong. Hildur Yeoman from Iceland and new generation designers from Korea, the United Kingdom, the United States, Italy, France, Iceland, Panama and Tanzania. The participating designers expressed their great privilege to participate in the tour, hoping to bring their own design work to different countries, meet good designers, and learn from each Other. The organizers will tour in cities across four continents, including fashion shows and display of designer works.
It is reported that the tour will begin in Turku, Finland in June. The tour cities include Reykjavik in Iceland, Panama City in Panama, Dar es Salaam in Tanzania, and Zhuhai in China, May 29 Japan will hold an opening conference in Hong Kong. Through this tour, the new generation of designers will be able to discuss each other's issues of exchanges and cooperation with each other and expand their network of contacts to gain more new opportunities in trade activities and open up new international markets. The tour will increase the awareness of the new generation of international fashion designers, and will also increase the opportunities for tourism promotion in the city's tourism development.
