SCR: Firmly entering the field of digital printing

Stamperiadi Cassina Rizzardi (SCR) is a textile company that uses digital printing technology. It was founded in Como, Italy in 1947. In 1984, it moved to Cassina Rizzardi, a small town in northern Italy. It is only about 40 minutes drive from the Milan Fashion Center.

SCR is a unique textile printing and dyeing company that not only provides printing services for many well-known high-end clothing brands, but also designs and sells its own textile design products.

SCR President Federico Curti said: "We are experiencing a digital printing revolution, digital printing has completely changed the market. Digital technology has greatly improved the color, pattern and speed of printing, but some of our customers report that the traditional printing machine The color is better, and it tends to use the traditional rotary screen printing machine, but we think we should not go back, we can continue to use the traditional rotary screen and sieve plate, but this cost is too high and more troublesome. We believe that It is incredible that people continue to use traditional printing techniques today."

Through the continuous development of partnership with MSPrinting Solutions, SCR has transformed into digital printing. In 2007, SCR purchased 10 MSJP5 inkjet digital printing machines from MSPrinting Solutions and firmly entered the digital printing field. At the time, the maximum speed of the JP5 was 20 meters per hour. Today, the same equipment can reach a maximum speed of 100 meters per hour.

Recently, SCR has added two larger MSJP7s with a maximum printing speed of 335 meters per hour.

Federico Curti further pointed out that in 2007, SCR did not have any textiles as digital printing products, but as of 2011, SCR has 50% of digital printing products, and he estimates that 80% of printing products will be in 2016. It is a digital printing product.

Why did you decide to introduce Single-Pass?

Whether it is JP5 or JP7, it is just an appetizer before dinner. In 2010, Lario, the world's first single-Pass digital printing machine, was introduced to the market, which attracted the attention of SCR. Although SCR still used traditional printing machines for high-volume printing production, it realized that the purchase of Lario would help SCR companies to be at the forefront of digital printing innovation.

“From 2015, we started to consider the Single-Pass digital printing machine, because the market is constantly changing, we need to break through.” SCR president FederioCurti said, “Using Lario stems from our whim, we thought it was crazy. The idea, we see that Single-Pass is a new way to improve digital printing, Lario is incredible, we can print 40-50 meters in one minute, the speed is comparable to the rotary screen printing, and eliminate the traditional printing short board."

SCR's LaRio, which can be configured with both active and disperse inks on the same machine, has the advantage of printing cotton, wool, silk , and polyester , with a conversion time of only 10 minutes between inks. Traditional printing changes take 120 minutes.

Federico Curti said: "When customers see Lario's ability to configure two inks on the same machine for production, they will turn to our company."

Federico Curti's son, SCR Vice President LinoCurti added: "Lario is like two machines in one, regardless of the printing speed, the quality is consistent, our printing speed is now 35 meters / minute, and Lario's top speed At 75 m/min, Lario's nozzles are more stable and have a fixed calibration, while other printing methods are difficult to print at fixed points."

The size of the Lario is equivalent to the size of a subway car. It is equipped with an MSMaxi-D oven of the same size from MSPrinting Solutions, which occupies almost the entire printing shop of SCR, but saves the storage space of the screen and the drum. The entire workshop looks natural and coordinated. You know, SCR used to use 3,000 square meters of space to store screens and rollers, and now saves space to store more textiles.

Digital printing will become the industry standard

Digital printing saves the preparation and cleaning time of traditional printing machine components (such as screens, rollers, etc.), FedericoCurti said: "With a traditional printing machine, you must first make the color palette, mix the slurry, prepare the roller, clean the screen. Once a link is interrupted, the printing time will be delayed for at least 24 hours."

Luigi Milini, founder and president of MSPrinting Solutions, said: "The current ink cost is relatively high, but in fact you don't need to buy a screen or roller, you just need to change the digital files, so you can reduce the cleaning costs, as well as prepare fabrics, maintenance and downtime. The cost of using the traditional printing mode, the plate changing time is long, because the screen and the roller are cleaned, in addition, you have to use 500 liters (130 gallons) of water to clean the screen, this is a large quantity, then you Sewage needs to be treated. Digital printing offers more beautiful designs than traditional prints."

Meeting change is often daunting, but it can be a lot easier if you have a trusted partner. This year, SCR's total prints exceeded 7 million meters (23 million feet), and LaRio printed print fabrics are estimated at 2 million meters (6.6 million feet). SCR believes that digital printing is the future direction of development.
