Wearable future: Korea has developed a fabric with built-in OLED screen

Although at this stage, many smart device manufacturers are trying to find some new ways to create more kinds of smart devices. But both smart watches and other wearable smart devices have a common problem, which is the limitations of the display screen. In order to increase the size of the display screen, it is bound to increase the size of the device, and the flexibility of the device is also greatly limited.

However, if you can put the display screen into the fabric, what will happen. This is not a whimsical, brain-opening. Recently, a Korean manufacturer of Kolon Glotech and the research and development team of the Korean Academy of Sciences jointly completed the development of OLED (Organic Light Emitting Diode) in textiles.

The success of this research means that in the near future, we will see materials with various built-in displays. By then, there will be more new smart wearables such as smart badges, smart belts and smart sleeves. Although these ideas sound whimsical now, they should be realized in the future.

Of course, in order to complete the development and manufacture of new smart wearable devices, the R&D team must start to produce a fabric that meets the requirements. These fabrics must have a smooth, detailed surface with good breathability and heat dissipation. And although the fabric has a built-in display screen, it must not affect its soft, comfortable characteristics.

At this stage, it is obviously not realistic to develop these ideas and develop new smart wearable devices. But I believe that in the future, there should be exciting new product development success.
